Question Question about CME Value - $

Ok, I have factory GM CME setup installed on my 2000 SS. The Valance is painted Pewter. It has a Flowmaster Muffler installed. All is in excellent condition. Im going to sell the car and was wondering how much I might be able to get for the setup if I remove it. As I have the factory dual chrome tip setup to reinstall. Just wondering if its worth the effert.

Ough and saying $50 and that you will buy it isnt going to happen, I expect it should be worth a decent amount since there hard to find.

You'd probably make an easier sale of your car with it still attached, but more money if you separated it. So just how greedy are you? That'll determine what you should do...

After you peel it off and ship it you can probably forget about the paint. They sell the valence aftermarket now. I bought some NOS tips a few months ago too.
I'd leave it on, it's an eye catcher when it's on the car, it's a questionable used piece when it's been peeled off, and the tips/pipes cut/hacked off.

FYI...I sold the setup complete for $650 + $150 shipping on ebay.

The valance came right off with a heat gun. No damage to car or valance. Not sure if the guy that bought the stuff has a pewter car, but if he does he will not have to have it painted....just put on some new tape and put it on.

I totally agree with the looks of the setup thats why i spent so much money on it when I bought and insatalled it. Unfortunattly even as much as i like it in my opinion, the value of the car is raised almost zero with it. Which is true for almost any modification.

Of course having my own lift, mig welder and all the other tools to do all the work myself makes demodding the car that much more reasonable.

So all in all i dont think this has anything to do with being greedy, as obviously noone is making money selling 3rd gen F-bodys (well maybe dealers), but I do work for my money and if a little time in the garage and posting on the boards equals less of a LOSS on the vehicle, Im willing to do it.

Thanks for the posts guys.
