Default ASP AC Belt Questions? Is it necessary?

Does the AC belt turn anything other than the ac and the balancer?

I plan on not buying an ac belt because I have a busted compressor and the entre AC is coming out soon...

Will I be fine with just using the serpintine belt and leaving the AC belt off the compressor and balancer ? Or will I lose some form of accessory?

Where did you guys get your balancer bold will I be fine with an Autozone/Kragen one or should I see the dealer for an OEM bolt? I have to have it tommorow...

Thanks
James J

I went with the ARP balancer bolt for peace of mind. I forget where I got mine, maybe JEGS or something like that. It was about $25.

Lots of people use the stock one from the dealer without a problem. Just don't ever re-use the stock bolt, it's a torque to yield - use once and throw away.

The AC belt only turns the AC compressor so you can take it off.

You should be able to run without the AC belt. As it is on a belt bu itself. The rest of the Acc's will be ok.
