Default Should I go EWP?

My water pump is leaking so Im going to replace it (second time, car only has 27,300 miles on it!!)

1) Should I go to an EWP (I dont have AC or Heat anymore, but I dont drag anymore either)?

2) Do they last longer than OEM pumps?

3) Which sponsors carry them?

I'll be flushing the system as well staying with dexcool.

Thanks, after doing some research I agree and will stick with the OEM pump. I was going to go with advance, autozone, o'reilly, etc but read to many issues with them so ordered an OEM.

Thanks again

Was the second one OE? You dont hear too much about the water pumps on these cars going bad.

I dont remember if the 2nd was OE or not. It was like 5 years ago or so. Probly just about 4 or 5k miles ago. I probly picked it up at AutoZone but not this time.

I am on the list for a class action lawsuit against GM for Dexcool. It has taken out the water pump, heater core, radiator, intake manifold gaskets, and many thermostats. Oh yeah, it ate slam through my water neck(made out of steel).

I just got an email saying that they had gotten some kind of settlement and I will be forwarding some receipts for repair bill. That was in my 98 Blazer. My 94 Blazer which came with the green still looks new. Needless to say the Camaro sports green and its been in their 2 years and looks new.

When I replaced the intake gaskets on the Blazer, the rear coolant passages in the heads look like you took a handful of red mud and packed it in there.

Unreal. I have a GM truck With 177K that when I changed the DEXCOOL out last march at 159 K and 7 years still looked new. I think a cooling system which gets O2 drawn into it then it make sludge. I have heard many reports but had no probs so far on a Suburban, Silverado and Trans Am ( knock on wood).
