Default Would you go stainless??

I have a 2002 TA. Its always going to be babied. It will never see snow and will rarely ever see rain. Would you guys still go with stainless headers even if you have the money? I am looking at getting Hooker but to stainless are an extra $150 or so (I think summit has for around $580). Is Hooker a decent choice? Thanks in advance.

i dont drive mine in the rain nor snow. I have less than 500 miles on my coated edelbrock headers. They are slightly rusting. I have bought a set of stainless edelbrock headers and they are going to go in in the next week or so.

Absolutely right. Drop the coin and do it right the first time so you're not replacing rusty or rusted through headers in X numbers of years.

Absolutely! Even if the car never sees rain, ever, coated headers will still rust because of all the humidity and moisture in the air. Most of the exhaust gas that comes out of your tailpipes is water vapor. That's why when you stop driving, water drips out of your exhaust tips and the punch hole in the muffler. Besides, it's not like you won't be washing your car, either.

Regardless of the weather you see, if you buy coated headers, they'll probably be rusted up and ugly within a year or less. Stainless is a must IMO. At this point, it's only another few hundred bucks for a stainless header, and the stainless headers usually outperform the coated headers anyway (the stainless headers are typically designed better and are longer).

You can't lose by going stainless.
