I took my car up to about 5k rpm's when all of the sudden my exhaust got really loud and I heard a scraping sound. I pulled over and both sides of my y pipe had come off and it was just hanging on that safety loop. Its really weird because one side popped off the other day so I recently tightened both band clamps VERY tight. I just took the ypipe/muffler off....open headers sound badass

Eh, just rip it off and run it that way till ya get sick of it...or a ticket!!

Interesting note, we have no inspections in the great state of Oklahoma.

i had something similar happen to me when i had my f-bod. I took off out of a parking lot and like you said it got really loud. So i pulled over and it had came aloose where the y-pipe and catback came together.....i took it by the local exhaust shop and had it put back together.
