LTs are illegal on our cars because they relocate the cats. But almost all states (that test for emissions) don't care as long as they are there somewhere.

Since you already have headers in CA I would go no cats, because you'd fail already with those.

I would go with them for the positive reasons stated above. Just don't be like me and go cheap. Buy good, quality cats the first time so one doesn't break apart on ya.

I have lt's and cats. They are still illegal because they're moved but I figured it would be better to have them if it ever came down to getting pulled over or something. Be advised though I am lowered and ran 3" y with cats and I have only about 3" of ground clearance

Longtubes are illegal in every state. It's also illegal to relocate cats in every state.

It's always a better idea to run cats because it makes the exhaust sound better and removes a lot of the very strong, poisonous odors along with the raw gas smell. There's no reason not to run cats. Just use a good cat like Magnaflow 59959's. Besides, if you're pulled over and the cop wants to look for cats, having cats installed will likely get you out of trouble, regardless if your exhaust is illegal or not. Cops aren't emissions testers so you'd probably get away with it.

yes means with CATS

No means NO CATS
its just going to come down to if you want to deal with the hassle of having to pass inspection the CALI.

What catback system do you have on the car??

I would run cats if at all possible. High flow cats won't cost you much power at all and your car will sound and, more importantly smell much better with them. I don't have them on my car because it is too low for them but I would much rather have them on there, mostly because of the smell.
