CATs or NO CATs that is the question!
No Cats is not really a big deal, if you have "friends" in the smogging area. Where the big thing seems to be lately in Cali is the fact that cops are starting to learn there stuff. I have had two good buddies get caught for no cats, nothing like a $500 ticket... I would consider some dummy cats

Well guys I decided to put Both OBII CATS back on! And all 4 O2 Sensors on and it runs WAY BETTER!!! Way better than with out CATS and i am estimating better times and the quarter miles well i guess i will find out when it opens february 6.
I think there are carb legal headers out there just not long tubes.....which would leave the cats in the general area of where they are stock. To be honest a cop isnt gonna know exactly what position a cat goes in a car...and how many times does he look under your hood, or under your car for that matter. Also with smog just go to a hole in the wall smog shop... or some place where its a side thing they do...they wont know. As long as its clean out the pipes. For hassle free living cats...but if you wanna go faster...

i hve a guy that i just take him my registration, and he calls me when the paperwork is ready. i don't even have to take my car to him. i have a question?.. i have a 383 stroker and im running cats right now. if i take the cats off, will i noticed a big difference?

When I installed LT's I was running an ORY and LM1. It got to be really annoying with the sound and the smell. It was getting to the point where I didnt want to drive the car. Just a few days ago, I had magnaflow carsound cats installed on my y-pipe. I must say, I love it now. The car sounds so much better and cleaner, no more smell and no noticable loss in power. I say, go with cats.
After not having cats for 3 years I vote cats. I'm sick of the smell and smelling like gas whenever I drive my car. I got the 59959's for 80/piece with free shipping at planet magnaflow.
If your in cali lts!cats can be a real hassle when smog time rolls around...I had to swap out long tubes just to pass smog!!! And the fumes are just baddd especially at a drive thru or at the lights especially with a cutout...is there any way to allow a offroad y pipe to fit stock cats on it??cus Im sick of the fumes
