Default A question on my Pacesetter LTs

I installed them this past weekend, took forever too . but anyway... i test drove it after i was done and the y pipe banged, no biggy. i expected it to. so i shoved some stuff under it and the floor board to stop it and it worked temporarily. my question is when i get on it it sounds like i dunno.. rattly?.. lol like a heat shield is rattling in the back. but i saw no heat shield loose or close to the exhaust. does it supposed to sound like that or do i need to double check? oh and i got the SLP loudmouth that may have something to do with the rattling not sure though. i thought maybe itll stop after i break the headers in?

Rattle or rasp? it could be rasp due to the flawed design of the y-pipe merge.

you can buy a mount from thunder racing that will get rid of the banging without just stuffing crap in there...looks nicer and may work better.

I had to plug a hole in my intake right behind the throttle body when i installed mine. I also have the rattle from my Y I think it is coming from the 4 bolt cross brase under there.

I just put some electrical tape around the end of that small line, I guess that will serve the same purpose as plugging it right?

Maybe I was thinking of the wrong thing. I thought he was talking about that little line that was connected to the AIR tubes, I dealt with this when I took them off. That line went from the AIR pipe to somewhere around the back of the intake, close to the cowl, I believe.

No, I was refering to the AIR system thats connected to your smog pump which pre-heats your cats during the first few minutes when u start your car. There's a line that runs on both the driver and passenger side and they hook onto your exhaust manifold and merge into 1 line going to the pump. There's a small vacuum line or something that comes off one of these lines and connects somewhere into the intake (I'd have to look at it, It's been a while.)
