Came Upon SOME XTRA $$$$
) I was thinking maybe ASP Pullys, but Im new to this stuff so I need all and any advice I can get. Im talking about spending a couple hundred, not thous.THANKS ALREADY
Its just not economical horsepower. Save a few more bucks and add nitrous, or a cam. Dont fart around with little trinkets that give you tiny horsepower gains. Go for traction first, then power.
My last car was a 94 Z-28. I added every little crappy mod that could be done. I went from a 14.4 to a 14.0. I added up all the money I spent on snake oil parts (air foil, pulley, K & N, a ram air kit that broke two days later, Jet S2 chip)and it was over $1200 with parts and labor.
For that much money I could of added nitrous, and a converter and ran 12's all day long. Which I did later on (Vortech S trim, Vigalante TC)
1. Drag Radials
2. Lower Control Arms/Adjustable Pan Hard Bar
3. Adjustable shocks/springs
4. Subframe Connectors
Phase II
1. Aftermarket Torque Arm (BMR, Spohn, etc.)
2. Solid Clutch (Cartek or Spec)
3. Rearend gears 3.73 or 4.10 (I went 4.10's)
4. Differential Cover (Jegs, TA, etc.)
Phase III
1. POWER ADDERS!!! Headers, Nitrous, Supercharger, Cam and Heads, whatever.
The biggest limiter of any Fbody is traction. Bonestock, they can spin the tires up in smoke. So why add power first, and just spin the tires more.
The first thing you can do to make the car fast is a good set of Nitto's or BFG Drag Radials. I have friends that have picked up over a half a second or BETTER with a simple tire swap.
