Default Solid Motor Mounts

I am thinking about putting solid mounts in my car cuz even with poly mount my exhaust still hits and the headers hit the k-member. Im not worried about vibration and such. I am trying to get this car in the 10's this year. Last year it ran a 11.2 at 123ish. There is no cage in the car and i know i will be thrown out. what im worried about is that if the car bites like it should this year with no cage and solid mount will the frame twist?

I'd stick with the GM mounts the Poly mount tend to be verry stiff and take a shape and dont form back into shape like rubber does IMO.

Have you looked at mufflex exhaust hangers http://www.mufflex-performance.com/
I'd be concerned about twisting If I was in the 10's

Get the solid mounts. I doubt the frame will twist. Especially if you have SFCs already.

I dont think you will have enough power to twist your subframe

get some good subframe connectors and poly motor mounts and you'll be fine. No need to go solid unless you just want them to have them.... You can adjust the exhaust to not hit the floor. I was pushing around 550 rw with this combo and never had a problem.

i need to bring this back from the dead lol. Anyway...I wasnt gonna do the solid mounts untill i lowered my car...i scrape everything so i am going to tuck my exhaust in a little closer, actually really close so i want to do solid mounts so my exhaust doent move. Will the solid mounts give me false knock?

solid motor mounts are the best. I had problems with the exhaust hitting the floorboard. Tried adjusting everything and couldnt get them to stop. Put in solid mounts and no noise at all. Like stated above, change in the cup holder can drive you nuts but other than that not much was changed. Just a little vibration. I say go for it. It also cleans up the engine bay really nicely and makes working on it that much easier.

on my car it was almost a full inch, but my stock mounts were completely trashed. i could almost pull the rubber insert out without seperating the clamshell. i've read it's a little more than a 1/4 on most cars though. when i first fired it up after the swap the exhaust was pinned up against the floor. solids are the way to go
