He did a great job and flowed better than the afr 205's as promised. These heads are bad *** and look bone stock. I would give him a call.
Man that sounds good, I am doing the same thing readind, searching and etc..
I was thinking the same thing, just port and polish my heads which are the same 806 casting and run the 228R cam with a ls6 intake.

are the afr 205 heads all they are cracked up to be? i no they are a great head, but if you end up spending 2300 bucks for afr's that will likely make 10-15hp more than the budget heads i listed but cost almost 1000 bucks more is it worth it? the same goes for tf or rhs and other big priced heads. all these heads are great quality and are the companies own castings that's why they cost so much. budget head companies like patriot, livernois etc. those companies put in the same testing and time in to there heads as the big money one's for fraction of the price. to me your paying big bucks for afr's and trick flow because of the names and that's it.
i would love to get afr's or rhs heads if i had 2300-2500 bucks, but i can get one of the budget heads that will still give me big #'s and have no problems with them, a fast 90/90 or ls6 intake and a nice cam for the amount of the pricier heads. so if you can still make big power and still save loads of money then isn't it worth it.

i went budget heads (stage 1) they have stainless steel valves, vette heads have expensive hollow sodium filled lightweight valves. next i went with stock ls6 springs and for added insurance go with better springs. i only plan on running my car to 6k or 6.1k rpms so i'm fine. unless your hardcore racing, my budget heads flow 307 cfm at 600. my downfall was to small of a cam. choose that wisely based on YOUR realistic goals. just my 2 cents.

Get trick flow 215cc heads they seem to be the hottest heads out there right now. Ive looked around and everybody that is running them is making huge power. I think they make more power than a set of ''out of the box'' AFR heads.

just looked at tea 1.5 heads and the look really good and have great lift #'s, especially down low and for a good price. just don't know what the runner size is. so i'm either going to get livernois stg.2, patriot ls6 stg.2 or tea stg 1.5's. between these three what will give me the best performance and reliability for the money.

people get too caught up in flow numbers , things like cross section width, runner design and runner size play a large roll in how a head makes power over another. ported 243 castings work great and flow pretty decent compared to the aftermarket castings like AFR and trickflow, however the power curve and tq numbers tell the whole story, not to mention part throttle driving and responsiveness.

Save up an extra 500 bucks and go for the AFR's

We can do you a set of our CNC ported 243's with oem valves and Patriot Gold dual springs. These heads will flow around 300 @.600" on a stock bore. They will come with a flow reflecting their flow. These heads will run $1095.00for the pair. It is a hard deal to beat. If you have any questions, please give a call.
