Default FTRA vs. SSRA

I am just wondering what the main difference is between the two. Which one does every1 prefer? Any pros/cons between the two? And is it a worthwhile mod or kind of a waste? Lots o questions here lol

Pretty obvious that you didn't search it yet. Read down a few posts:

This topic has been beat to death like a wife that won't do the dishes. I did lots of reading and research before I bought my FTRA. I think the two are almost identical. I went with the FTRA because I didn't want to scrape going into my driveway.

Either one I think you will see about the same gains. I didn't have any seat of the pants increase but I can say the engine seemed to run smoother. Just my .02

I noticed a difference when i put one on with a ported TB. my car isn't a ws6 and with ported TB, FTRA, cutout, lid and filter i put down 320rwhp. pretty good numbers i thought for very minimal bolt-ons.

and your point is? plastic is superior to metal in terms of weight and non heat soaking. your air lid is plastic too, would you rather have a metal one?

Well yes I would if it was on the bottom of my car and scrapped going over large bumps...my friend had a SSRA that got smashed to bits going over a speed bump, but anyways they are about the same thing anyway. To the OP, just get one that you can find a good deal on in the for sale sections.
