Default Crappy Flowmaster

So my flowmaster cat back is crap. If I cut the tips off that dont even line up with each other would it look even more stupid or do you guys think you would not even see it then?

I would just go with a totally diff exhaust if you got the cash. Ive seen many dynos where flows hold back the power tremendously.

Yes, I have dyno proven that the flowmaster sucks. It cost me 39 rwhp on my last dyno pulls. But I run open cutout all the time so I dont worry about it too much.

I picked up a used magnaflow catback for 50 bucks. Look around there are some good exhuast deals around. There is a magnaflow catback and ORY on my local craigslist right now for $150.

Wow I did not think it was that restrictive and am trying to get slicks and subframe connectors and build another car at the same time. Guess I should pick up some overtime. I would wind up in jail if I drove around with my cutouts open

$230 for maybe 10 hp??? Doesn't really make sense to me. But I have a flowmaster on my car and it sounds great and from the numbers I have seen it put down, doesn't hinder the flow.

To all the haters, Flowmaster is not all that bad and it is a great price and not all that bad.

Sorry to hear about your Flowmaster....I had the Magnaflow sysytem before getting my current B&B cat-back. You won't have any regrets with the Magnaflow, bang for the buck....one of the best.

Somebody has to play the devil's advocate. Good job for stepping up to the plate.

Sound wise, Flowmaster is alright, although I do hear in higher HP applications it does restrict flow. But that is only vs other aftermarket catbacks, it actually turns out that the stock GM catback flows pretty decently and the Flowmaster flows very comparably to it but inferior to other aftermarket catbacks. In the end its all down to taste, do whatever you feel is right and go with it because its your car and your happiness is the most important factor.

Another one here for magnaflow or SLP. Both cat-backs are stainless unlike the flowmasters so you dont have to worry about them ever rusting!!!

I always liked the flow of my SLP LM1 ...heres why

Exactly its basically a polished straight pipe
And the best part is that in the paper that come with it.
It says that it is technically a muffler by definition although not your typical one
