When the exhaust shop welded my ORY up to the headers it was very close to the floorboard so the guy took a huge crow bar and bent it down a little. Its not rubbing the floorboard but it does occasionally rattle on the k member. I'm going to have to get down there with a dremel and see if i can grind away at the k member.

a muffler hanger will fix it or motor mounts.

Yeah, basically what I did. If you do it right and use a good clamp or something you can't even notice it's there.

Mine did the very same thing so I went to a exhaust shop I know and trust. Told them my problem and they said it can be fixed. So I pull my car into the bay they put it up in the air looked at the Y-pipe for a second. I thought there was some kind of speacial tool to adjust exhaust pipes. Next thing I know the guy is prying on my Y-pipe with some kind of extra pipe they had laying around. Lol Of course I freaked but like I said I trusted these guys. So after the cars done I go on a short drive low and behold no more banging!!! Sometimes the caveman way is best. That was almost a year ago now and still no banging.

Works like a charm!!! This is your easiest fix unless you want to use the prybar method, which works well too....Most people are scared to do this, but it works without hurting anything. It doesn't take much.

I put pacesetters on this past summer with TSP catted y. had same problem with banging on the floor board. I cut a 3" piece of heater hose and clamped it to the piping where it was rattling. Rattle is GONE now and you cant see it.

I installed poly mounts this past weekend and it seems to have completely eliminated my pacesetter LTs and ORY from rattling/banging! However, beware! I did the poly motor mount install WITH my pacestters LTs already installed, and let me tell you it's one hell of a job! Took a total of about 11 -12 hrs with my roomate helping me. Its a bitch, but its worth it. Stops the banging at the source.

Is there any chance of breaking /cracking anything by the flange when doing it the caveman way?

I have the same problem and I considered wedging something there but I would have thought anything rubber would melt. I'll have to try this hose method.

Heater hose works great, I put 2 hoses in there because I'm and overachiever. I had an old jeep engine sitting outside so I cut a piece of hose off it that actually connected to the manifold. The hottest part of the exhaust is the manifold or headers, by the time it gets to the y its a ton cooler. Don't worry about it melting, mine have been in for almost a month and theres no melting.

It seems to me like just jamming some heater hose inbetween the ory and the floorboard would transfer all kinds of weird noises and vibrations into the cabin. kinda seems ghetto to me, but if it works it works. Im installing poly mounts right now.

Did you use anything to hold it in place or is pressure from it's location working ok? I could see body flew or acc/decelerating allowing it to wiggle loose.
