Tune with Full exhaust and Intake manifold?
I know a tune will benefit you if you install full exhaust headers back and an ls6 intake manifold however, any of you guys know if you can safely run on the stock factory tune with these mods. Does it mess up the air/fuel ratio and run lean? I don't have an Fbody yet but a friend of mine is selling me a full exhaust system that i'll have before i buy the car so I can have full exhaust asap.

I got a tune when i got my headers, cat-back and a few other bolt-ons. To be honest, it was the biggest waste of money I got for the car. I should have waited till I got H/C and all the goodies. I ended up getting another tune and forked over another $400. Running on just headers and LS6 intake wont hurt your car with A/F ratio. Your O2's will read if your suckin in too much air and compensate by dumping more fuel in.

I had ordered a mail order tune once I had all my bolt-ons on, headers, exhaust etc. I went down to a dyno shop and did 1 pull w/o the tune @ 305hp, then 1 pull with the mail order tune @ 305hp, there was no gain WTF. Come to find out, my A/F was way off, something a mail order tune will not fix. I had the car dyno tuned to the right A/F for my set-up and left there with 355HP. So, I would suggest to wait until you have your mods done, do them all at once, then get a dyno tune. It is more expensive, but I knew it had to be done or else all the modding was for nothing.

Sorry if I'm hijacking. I guess I'm just gonna go ahead and do the tune too then. I just got the car and who knows what little tweaking it needs. Better safe then sorry.

If you can afford it I would , most LSX's run lean after a header install... And for $250 thats a good deal, most places are $400 easy. But if you cant afford it then what can you do? Im getting mine Dyno tuned shortly, I want a baseline and I want to have it perform at its best. Also if you do an ORY chances are you will throw a code due to the lack of cats. And if you remove the AIR you may throw a code... Depending on your year you may not have EGR.
