pully problem!!!

Default pully problem!!!

i was putting on my ud pulley, and i had to tap it on with a hammer cause the bolt wasnt cathcing and we lubed it up with oil and that didnt help much either! and we hit the outside lip of it and a peice about 2 inches long chipped off!! will this throw off the balance when i hit about 6,600 rpm's?? i also heard the ls1's are internally balanced!!??? and help would be great!!! thanks

If you're referring to the pulley(balancer), I'd give it the heave ho into the recycling bin.
Lack of balance within your engine is not to be taken lightly. Sorry this happened to you.

Its the pulley that goes into the crank.... is that what you are talking about??

Yes, that is the balancer. If you're going to be doing anything serious with your car, I'd get a new one. Sorry, that kind of sucks.

Use the correct tools or have a shop do it for you and your's will turn out okay.


SNAXS: Yes your pulley if toast and out of balance. You'll need to replace it and I would recommend the same as above. You never want to hammer on anything connected to the crank.
