Default Question about LS1 thermostat from a Silverado truck guy!

Can anyone tell me what the temp is for a stock thermostat on an LS1 that came in a Camaro or Firebird? I've seen a couple for sale and the seller said they were stock 172* thermostats. Then I saw another one that said it was a stock LS1 Camaro stat and it was 180*. I want to replace the stat on my 5.3L to a 180* from the stock 195* but I want to make sure that the stat IS a 180* stat. I've had an SLP 160* stat and I think that's to cold. Any help would be apreciated.
Jim

Go with the 160, you have an iron block and it doesn't cool as quickly as our aluminum blocks do. The stock ones are 180F
