Default Pro products Typhoon Intake Manifold

Does anyone know anything about these or know of anyone that runs this intake. Seems like a good deal for the intake and fuel rails. Ive seen these as low as 375 for the intake and rails.

That manifold is junk.

Stick to the LS6 or FAST/90

I have one on my car and they aren't junk. When they were first released they had some manufacturing problem but these have been addressed. Some people have had leaks at the fuel rail but all seem to be because they didn't use teflon tape on the threads.

I'm happy with mine so far. Have not been to the track yet with
it. No leaks or anything, a few things to get past on the install
(valley cover bolts, extend MAP pigtail) but no show stoppers.
I just wanted to get rid of plastic primarily. But will see what MPH
does, one of these weeks.

What's junk about it? the only thing I've seen is the gaskets
& fittings were updated, and the valley cover bolt head height
can interfere. One solved for you, one costs about 10 bucks for
new bolts.

I just installed one on my buddies 2000 Z28. This is the 96mm version and with a NW90. He went from ported stock TB/LS1 intake to this and there was a big sotp difference. I have personally talked to Jim @ PP and I also run thier 85mm TB on my car. The intake went on with no problems except that the 96mm had no holes drilled for a cable TB, as it was thought most would use the Vette/LS2 TB. They have gaskets now for the intake and with some teflon tape on the fittings, I had no fuel leaks after a few adjustments once completed. He has machined the rest correctly. I am probably going to run this 96mm intake with my MS3/PRC 5.3 2.5's/1 7/8 Super Comps and Revxtreme 100mm TB since I am going to run a 150+ shot, I need something stronger than FAST polymer. Here are a few pics.

Plenty of material to open the snout that little bit, for a 100 even better.

Buddy's ride. Him and I do installs. The Typhoon went on well and performed great. My question to all that say any part are junk: Have you done it? Have you actually seen it? OR, has someone on the internet of questionable skills and who knows about talent said it?????

This car is a stock 98 botton end, 98 port heads, and Futral 13.5 cam or whatever they called it....oh, and with 120+k miles....

I installed the PP 85mm Intake and TB and had no problems everything went together perfectly. I put down 399RWHP with the set up in my sig with this intake so it can not be that crappy.

HERE IS A LINK TO MY INSTALL THREAD

Unfortunately, there's no way to tell whether that power increase came from just the cam, or not. It's not really an apples to apples comparison when you change both the intake and the cam at the same time. I run an LS6 intake and wouldn't mind trying one of these, but I have yet to see anyone who has went from a good running LS6 intake combo, to the Typhoon, with no other changes done at the same time. Anybody have an links to actual head to head comparisons...that aren't from the manufacturer?

No, that's why I made mention of it. They also changed the camshaft, according to the dyno sheet descriptions at bottom....

The Futral has more lift and more duration than the Vinci...depending on which 113 cam they used, it can be as little as .040" more lift, or as much as .090"+ more lift, which will surely have raised the dyno numbers by themselves.

Not saying the intake isn't working, but those results tell us nothing.

JUNK HELL !!!!!! I installed the 96 MM Typhoon on my car. complete with fuel rails cost $525.00.My baseline before install was 380 RWHP & 415 RWTQ. After install my numbers were 393 RWHP and 429 RWTQ on a A/4 car and on a MUSTANG DYNO. My gain was 13 RWHP and 14 RWTQ. I could have gained 4-6 more HP is I went with the FAST 90 but at twice the price of my Typhoon, I did not need or want the extra few HP. Plus put that plastic intake with a Nitrous or Turbo set up and PRAY that you don't get a back fire,
