Default Engine assembly questions.

Bought a ls6 long block in disassembled form and I can't find a service manual anywhere. I bought 2 performance books but they don't go into everything. So there are a few items I don't know what or where they go.

1. On the rear of the engine right next to the cam sensor there is a 1/2" threaded hole with a tapered bottom. What goes there.

2. There is a cross over vacuum line that goes under the intake and hooks up to the heads on front and back. Is this needed, or can it be blocked. If it matters this will be a boosted engine.

3. Where does the map sensor go.

4. On the rear of the ls6 intake there is a big plug with some vacuum line fittings. What is this.

5. On the carb there are a few lines. One on the right goes to the intake/knock sensor pan. Below the carb there are 2 that I think are the water lines that I should just plug off, correct? And there is one on the right of the carb on the intake that goes where?

6. Does it matter what coil pack goes where.

ANY HELP IS APPRICIATED.

Sounds like the Oil Pressure sending unit

2. There is a cross over vacuum line that goes under the intake and hooks up to the heads on front and back. Is this needed, or can it be blocked. If it matters this will be a boosted engine.
This is not a vacuum line. It's the coolant crossover line. Are you sure this is a LS6? A real LS6 does not have this because the LS6 intake plenum is bigger that the LS1. You can buy the LS6 specific coolant line which removes the X crossover and just connects at the front between the heads. There are plugs that block off the rears on the back of the heads.

3. Where does the map sensor go.
Rear of the intake

4. On the rear of the ls6 intake there is a big plug with some vacuum line fittings. What is this.
This connects to the power brake booster.

5. On the carb there are a few lines. One on the right goes to the intake/knock sensor pan. Below the carb there are 2 that I think are the water lines that I should just plug off, correct? And there is one on the right of the carb on the intake that goes where?
Carb? Need pics of what you're talking about.

6. Does it matter what coil pack goes where.
The actual coils are not cylinder specific, but the harness needs to be connected correctly.

Sweet, thanks.

On the oil sending unit if I get an aftermarket one do/can they connect there?

Everything else is ls6 so I assume the block is too. I'll try to find the cross over eliminators.

How can I eliminate the power break booster?

I ment TB not carb. I'll try to figure out how to post pictures on here.

Is the map under the intake? There is nothing on the exterior.

Thanks again.

the map does go on the rear of the intake. the top hole on the tb is for the pcv system. the bottom two are for engine coolent, best thing is to just block them off. on the crossover line under the intake you can cut the front into two pieces and connect them with a piece of hose across the front and block off the back two. they are not needed.

If I don't need to worry about emissions can I cap the pcv on the tb?

Is the break assist pull vacuum off the intake. No breaking is needed so how can I cap or eliminate this.

PCV is not gonna be something you want to cap off.

Well, it should have an LS6 pcv on it already if you got an LS6 longblock. I would leave it as is if that is the case.
