Even though I got mine for $675 shipped, they are overpriced.my biggest problems with FAST is 1.lack of intake gaskets when you buy it.2 the crappy bolts that begin to rust 5 minutes after you install it.3. mold the thing in black plastic,so you don't have to paint it...

I would pay that and for the shipping to hawaii and not lose a wink of sleep over it.

If they cut their price by half they would sell twice as many of them, make the same money, and have twice as many people supporting their products and likely to return as customers.

idk about sellin twice as many, but if you want the best youll pay for it. I know id never buy an ls6 intake, and that when i get the money im getting a ported fast 92 / 92 combo. Alot of money yes, but not worrying about not having the best peice on the market or not having performance is worth it to me. Its kindof the concept of do it right the first time, spend the money once and you never gotto worry.

Budget-Build: ls6 ported, shaner, ported gm castings. Dynoes 410 rwhp
Max-effort-build: Fast 90/90, AFR/TFS/ETP dynoes 440
paid a lot more for 30rwhp, but it's enough to make a significant difference. You have to look at everything as a whole. Thats why people pay. Thats why i paid.

I did both! LOL. Seriously, it all comes down to adding up all the little things. Lets do a hypothetical mod on 2 ls1s (98s):
Budget-Build: ls6 ported, shaner, ported gm castings. Dynoes 410 rwhp
Max-effort-build: Fast 90/90, AFR/TFS/ETP dynoes 440
paid a lot more for 30rwhp, but it's enough to make a significant difference. You have to look at everything as a whole. Thats why people pay. Thats why i paid.

Really? I think that you are mistaken. 500rwhp is not the norm for these setups. Maybe with a race only cam, but for a good streetable setup this is not the case. My car gets dynoed tomorrow (will post the graph) and am shooting for 440rwhp off the N2O. 500 rwhp is a more realistic goal for the bigger cubed engines like the 402 ls2s. Look in the dyno section. There is a record of 408s and the medium is like 502 i believe. If you are right, then i will be one happy SOB tomorrow, but i think you are mistaken.

PatG went over 500 on a 346 also.
With the mods in your sig you should be at the 450 area, if not more.

Yeah ok man, you have no idea. I have a mid sized, low lift cam with TEA heads and a FAST intake, made over 450 untuned. Car is a complete street car. A MS4 or similar cam coupled with some porting of my FAST and a better tune would get me damn close if not over 500.

"FAST 90/90 with high end heads and the right cam are over 500 HP nowadays buddy!! Where you come with 440 at? "
And then you tell us you dynoed 450 untuned, and plan on picking up 50 additional rwhp w/ a "better" tune and ported fast 90? Come on man, be realistic.

A lot went into Patrick G's setup. Not jus' a simple Head/Cam/FAST 90/90.

I will say, with my new setup, I've been told I'll be making around 420rwhp...
that's an LQ4, 224R Cam, AFR 205's, BBK IM, BBK TB, LT's, ORY, LM1... a few more small mods here and there...
now... in my case, with the BBK (whether or not it makes more power, i dunno) but I'm completely fine with it. And it's half the price! To me 420rwhp is great for a DD and satisfies my needs... well, for now at least

Thank you. Damn, finally some back up. Brad 8266: Go read the thread. Basically, Tony mamo (king of heads/Intake) and PAtrick G (cam guru) got together and made it happen. This does not mean that any slap dick kid on the internet can throw together a 500rwhp H/C TA just by turning a couple wrenches. Go read the thread, and you will se why 500 rwhp is not common. In fact, has anyone besides Patrick done it on stock cubes???

Yea, PAt G did it. And that was freaking amazing. But, that is by no means common. Why would you dyno your car, and then not tune it? I think that it was tuned, and you are just not satisfied with your numbers I am not flaming, but you said
"FAST 90/90 with high end heads and the right cam are over 500 HP nowadays buddy!! Where you come with 440 at? "

The only tuning I did before dyno was scaled the injector table to work with my new 42lb injectors and idle tuned it. I tuned it after the dyno session on the street, havent been back to the dyno though. You think im not satisified with over 450 on a mid size cam, unported FAST and some old junk headers?
I said I could pick up 50 HP with a better tune, a port job, AND A BIGGER DURATION/BIGGER LIFT CAM LIKE AN MS4.Did you miss that part? Read the entire post next time.

BTW, this slap dick kid on the net built a 450+ setup by himself with off the shelf parts in a garage. And the combo wasnt even close to all out, I think I dropped about $5K including forged internals. Choose the right combo of parts and it will make power.
Let the ignorance and hating continue.
