Default Long Tube Header Gaskets

I just purchased some Pacesetter LT Headers. They came with a gasket set, but I wasn't real impressed. I ordered a set of stock gaskets that are thicker and look more durable. What do you all suggest I use, the Pacesetter gaskets or the stock gaskets??? Thanks in advance!!

I would go with the factory GM ones that came on your car. Thats what I did and what most will tell you to do. They seal great.

Good deal.. Thanks for the replies.. I was kinda weary about the ones that came with the headers. I'll put the stock ones on and let it rip. Thanks again.

You can re-use the stockers, or pick up some new stockers. I reused my stockers for my header install, but picked up some new gaskets some 1000 miles later for my head swap.

I'm putting on my PS LT's tomorrow as well and I'm using Copper sealant on the headers. My friend has PS LT's and he kept blowing out his gaskets and since he pulled them away from the heads and coated the flanges with Permatex Copper Sealant he has not had a leak since. So I'm gonna try it and if it doesn't work I'll use gm Gaskets....

I think I'm having problems with the felpro's so don't go that way. I have what sounds like an exhaust leak on the passenger side.............it can't be coming from anywhere else.

i made the mistake of using the paper gaskets when i did my lt install and the driver side blew out on the way home...got some felpros on there now and havent had a problem yet.... Do it with the good stuff first though, cuz its a major PITA and a headache having to go back and re-do that kind of stuff

Percy's here, after the stocks leaked a little. I had the paper ones from the FLP's back in 2000 and they blew out in 500 miles.
