TSP Duals or Mufflex

TSP Duals or Mufflex
Well, I have decided yet again that I am unhappy with my current exhaust setup... mainly because I think that my pacesetter Y isnt going to be up to the forced induction task in the future... if I am that lucky.
So a post a few nights ago about a 4" exhaust really got me thinkin about the mufflex/flowmaster setup with the 4" Y pipe/catback. Is it true that two 3" pipes only have .125" more than one 4"?
I am leaning pretty heavily toward the mufflex side now, also thinkin that it will be a tad quieter and have better ground clearance than true duals, and be pretty unique. How well would it be for forced induction? Would duals be better? If you're only talkin about like 7rwhp then i think I can live without that... especially if I am planning on trying to get upwards of 550rwhp.
Oh, one more thing... I've got pacesetters and I was wondering if anyone thinks that it would be worth spending a ridiculous sum of like $700 for some stepped headers... or are the pacesetter lt's honestly good enough??

I went with TSP tru duals, w/ 2 dynomax bullets. I love it.

Okay, according to my calculations two three inch pipes flow approxamately 11% greater than a single 4" pipe.
One 4" pipe flows approxamately 22% better than two 2.5" pipes.
It was obvious from the beginning that two 3" duals flow better than a single pipe, but 11% isn't a whole lot to be concerned about... unless you're trying to squeeze out the last little bit for your dyno queen. The fact that true duals are cheaper than the entire mufflex setup again makes them more desireable, however, I think that the 4" setup is unique and still capable of supporting a crap load of power. and unless you're looking at the 1000hp level I just dont think the true dual thing is going to be a must. I guess I'll have to stop at 800
Oh and just for the heck of it, two 3" pipes flow approxamately 30% better than two 2.5" pipes.

Mufflex man!!. Buddy has 3.5 in setup with spintech muffler and its one of the best sounding LS1s ive heard. Its really mellow inside but yet sounds awesome outside the car at WOT! Im putting a 4in on my car with cutout for the track

I have heard that the spintech sounds great, but i've also heard that they dont flow well at all. So far the magnaflow sounds like the best flowing setup. Anyone know about the flowmaster setup and how well it flows or what type of path the exhaust has to take to get thru it?

Dammit, as much as I want to go with the mufflex setup I just can't justify dropping more than twice what I can get the TSP duals for. The cost of both the Y pipe and Catback is over $860 before shipping. ridiculous! All for freakin pipes and a muffler. On a good sale I can catch TSP with their duals on sale for around $399.
Why does this stuff have to cost so freakin much? I'll spend more than $1500 on a copy of hptuners, a wideband, and an interceptor gauge... after spending $2500 to get a decent rearend... and only then will my car be ready for some more power.

Apples to oranges
You are really comparing apples to oranges when it comes to the exhaust systems here. The TSP system exits under the car, the Mufflex system follows the factory exhaust path and exits behind the car. The TSP system attaches right to the headers, the Mufflex system attaches to the Y pipe.
If you want the best bang for the buck, the TSP system is going to win hands down. It's much cheaper to construct a system out of 3" tubing than 3.5" or 4.0". It is also is using bullet style mufflers while the Mufflex systems uses a full size muffler.
Usually, systems that exit under the car are going to be louder because they resonate off the floor pan. Sometimes exhaust "smell" is more noticeable to the occupants of the car.
The Mufflex systems are very unique in sound as they use such larger diameter tubing.
Both are great systems, you just need to choose which one you prefer.
We've done Mufflex GP's in the past that lower the price. If people are interested in that, we would need at least 5 orders.

Done. Please let anyone else know that is interested. The whole Mufflex catalog would be 12 % off the regular price from:
