EGR/AIR removal ???'s I am having an exhaust shop install my QTP race style headers and build me a custom y-pipe to connect to my Magnaflow catback. I dropped my car off and they said that they would not touch the egr/air systems. So I'm going to remove those and take the car back up there, however I'm concerned about driving the car w/ no block off plates in the exhaust manifolds. Will it make any difference if I drive the car about 15 miles w/ no block off plates or will I just have a small exhaust leak during the drive? I really don't feel like buying block off plates for a 20 minute drive.

an exhaust leak is about it, it wont hurt the car that i know of . . . one of mine was cracked so it leaked eversince installation. do the QTP's come in egr/air version and race version like the pacesetters do? i got the race style pacesetters since i pulled the air egr lines off the car, looks cleaner hahaha

I would remove everything but the EGR Solenoid. Then when you get there, take off the few screws that hold it on. I wouldn't drive with that hole exposed.

Buy some blockoff's from WS6store or Texas speeed. You'll need a freeze plug for the top of the LS1 manifold to block off the EGR port. It's incredibly easy to take the stuff out, I ripped out my AIR system this past weekend, took maybe an hour.
