Thanks for the advise, looks like most people lean towards the TSP.

Texas Speed are popular and I have seen them and they look like a quality product. They are a lot louder than Y-pip & Cat-back exhuasts.

Kooks makes a system that is great and uses magnaflow mufflers & I believe keeps the Cat's. It is however pricey @ ~$2K.

The Kooks system is not an off the shelf system...you would have to take your car to New York and have them build it on the car.
TSP is good if you want it dumped before the axle.
Myself I want it over-the-axle . For this you can go with Bassani which is an X to two pipes back then into one muffler and dual exits and I dont like how one pipe goes over the panhard and one goes under.

When I am done with my H/C swap I am taking my car to Cunningham Motorsports to have it tuned and a true dual over the axle setup fabbed. They have a great price on it too.Custom id really your only bet unless you go with the Bassani.

Lane made mine as well... He's still around.., Just not fabbing his TD's anymore. It's really too bad! I get comments ALL of the time of how mine sound through my 3in CME..

TSP has a good product as well... Yuo can't go wrong w/ them.

buy my lanes TD - You will be VERY happy with the sound - I'm just trying to tame my car down a lil b/c of my new neighborhood!

dochall22: I'm really not looking to spend $500 on used exhaust. Just wondering, what are they made of? They have a bit of rust on them it looks like?

hey camaro fanatic, who have you talked to about exhaust in springfield? Have you went to go and see Blake at 417 motorsports? I was at his shop yesterday, hes pretty busy but he might be able to work ya in.
I also have another person that does great 'after hours' work. Hes done approx 20 fbody exhausts for me over the last 4 years. he has always been very resonable on price and does good work.

To tell you the truth, I only talked to one shop and they told me that it couldn't be done, so I figured that they would all tell me that around here and the one that I went to was the one I was referred to. I never thought of going to 417 Motorsports for exhaust. I knew that they did other performance but I never thought about that. Can you talk to/PM the number for the guy you were talking about doing the after hours exhaust. Thanks for the ideas.

About the Sweet Thunders...I was thinking about Dynomax bullets, sorry. lol.

well, the guy is a friend of mine. i could give you the shop number and you would have to pay normal shop price but for the after hours work i can just call his cell number and get a quote for you. do you want dumps or out the back? what size? H or X pipe? and are you supplying anything?
yes i live in springfield, and all i ask is you reconsider you dynomax bullet thoughts. im not a huge fan of those mufflers. or if you can call them that, lol

What do you drive? Maybe I've seen/raced you. It would probably be cheaper to get it done out of the shop wouldn't it? I want an X-pipe, dumped before the axle and i would probably buy the mufflers unless he can get them cheaper than I could get them for. What's wrong with the Dynomax?

Most run-of-the-mill shops will tell you it cannot be done. You may be able to convince some of them if you put together a CD of good true dual system pics. I have been down this route already, as have many. Mandrel bent stainless is going to be expensive. The only way to do mandrel bent stainless is custom or Bassani. Even with the Bassani, some customization may be required. My post in the true dual sticky explains my QTP + Bassani dual project.

It's really annoying to be told that it can't be done when I've seen it done so many times before.

how much switching around are you going to do on your exhaust? I purchased a TSP system, but then swapped in cats, added tailpipes, and now swapped in Flowmaster mufflers...I have pretty much cut apart and/or changed almost everything except the X-pipe. if your going to do what I did, save yourself some hassle, buy a universal X-pipe and some bends from your favorite vendor, and put it together yourself (most shops can put tailpipes on once the rest is together)...I would have saved about $250 doing it that way

I'm just going to have to run cats so I can pass inspection, POSSIBLY do cutouts, not sure yet, and I'm just going to leave it dumped. I want it LOUD!!!

Looked at that many times but the sound quality being different on a lot of them makes it hard to get a fair comparison.
