At first, I was looking at the SSRA, but when I seen the price tag, I was like Then, shortly after, I found a used FTRA for $90 and couldn't pass that up. I am happy with the results of the FTRA. I also knocked off 1.5-2 tenths with it.

I dropped a little over 1 tenth and picked up 1.5 mph in nearly identical conditions(4900-5000 D.A.) with my FTRA that I picked up for $75.
PS, I have no problems with the car heating up any in traffic.

no overheating here. and I drove it 90 degree weather in a misture of stop and go traffic and highway driving for 80 miles yesterday.
I tested it with the FTRA closed and open. 1.5 mph is gained with it open.

I like the SSRA as well, I had them both on the car but kept the SSRA. I didnt like popping 5 holes in my bumper cover for the SSRA but I did it..
I didnt switch them back to back on the same day at the track but the car ran pretty much the same with either so I kept the lighter of the two. On 95 degree days the car does run a little cooler with the SSRA as well add the IAT drops a couple more degrees on a pass when starting at the same temp on super hot days. Probably makes no real world difference but thats what I have observed.
If you are worried about smacking into things the FTRA is the way to go. Both maunfactures are great to deal with so you cant go wrong with either, there is only a 30.00 dufference so thats not really a factor anymore..

Re: Fast Toys Ram Air or Super Sucker Ram Air
I've got one of the original plastic prototypes on my car and I have been pleased with it. The install went well and it fit up quite nicely. I got one of the early ones with the crappy install screws, but a quick trip to the hardware store fixed that problem. Unfortunately due to clutch crappiness I haven't gotten any track times with it yet. I also haven't inspected it for cracking seams but I will check it today.

Re: Fast Toys Ram Air or Super Sucker Ram Air
Having never actually owned or tried either the FTRA or the SSRA, I can't say which one is built better or is easier to install. I have made my own copies of each design and I have to say the Super Sucker design seems to be the better of the two. I first made a ram air setup that mirrored the FTRA style setup out of aluminium flashing. It worked much better than no ram air at all, but it did make my car run hotter varfied by autotap since the gauge is almost worthless. The problem with that ram air setup was that it didn't seem to ram as much air as the SSRA style, and it also got destroyed by rocks since it's so close to the ground. My current setup mirrors the SS style ram air, just on a little larger scale. This time I made it out or thicker stainless steel, and decided to make it as big as physically possible and still fit to the underside of the lid. Temperatures went down compared to the FTRA style with the SSRA even though my new ram air is a lot bigger than the FTRA style. The SSRA doesn't block the radiator nearly as much, and also catchs the air like another air dam, instead or relying on deflected air traveling all the way up from the existing air dam. If I had to buy one I would probably go with the SSRA based on what I've experienced.
