They are a great header. I have them on mine, but not for long. Im going to go with the Hooker header or maybe the new edlebrock header. Im still worried about the slip on collector but we shall see. Id spend just a little bit more money and get a LT. Its worth looking into. its a PITA to change out headers anyway.

MAC install is the easiest of all header installs. It's so easy it won't be too much trouble to put stock exhaust back for emissions inspection.

You'll experience a bit more torque with MAC's then you will with longtubes, because you have just a bit more back pressure. I have them, and would not change for anyhting.

What kind of exhaust tone will Mac's give? Is it much different from stock?

it is different, it's louder but very raspy. I have heard several differnt exhaust setups with the MACs and cats, every one was raspy.

I agree that they do sound raspy. Mine sound like **** through no cats and the cutout. When they had cats and went through a cutout, they sounded fine.

Ive got them. With 373 Gears and Mac Headers I gained .7 tenths with them both so Im not sure how much exactly they helped.

Nope, if the CATS get moved. They won't pass the visual.

Really? I would rather have torque, than HP. And if they are eaiser to change out to stock. Might be an good choice.

What do you need to keep the Cats?? And be able to change them out every two years?

Yeah, off the line you'll have more torque, but you'll not have the power in later RPM's like you would with long tubes. But, it is the torque factor that gets the car moving. HP keeps it going. Check this out Californians, get you a MAC header system with high flow cats. Put O2 sims in place of the sensor at the ports, but make sure that you still have the O2 sensor plugged into the cats and tucked up and away under the car and wire tied. You should pass the emissions standards. They usually just check for SES lights. You can also put an off road pipe on it with catalytic converter shells where they would be located, do the same thing with the sims and such, and run a really high octane fuel in the car and you should pass as well.

I made good torque with my mac setup considering I have a pretty small cam... See sig. This was my intention since this is my daily driver, and I wanted more power down low for the street.

I have mac's with mac y and cats, and an open borla and I love the sound!! I have ZERO rasp, but I am running 10.8:1 compression so I'm pretty sure that's why. I think they are a great header. Mike at Rapid Motorsports told me that I would gain very little if any by switching to a long tube such as a hooker header. I'm going to stick with them, I get too many possitive comments about my exhaust tone.
