Pace Setter headers what do you guys think
hey i was just wounding what you guys thought about the pace setter headers any buddy got anything good to say about them or anything bad welp let me know thanks
to sum up what you'll find in search...they're the best bang for the buck. They'll fit great and give u good numbers. My only issue is that they're not stainless so they'll rust. They also don't have a high velocity merge collector. I'd recommend buying stainless so you only have to buy headers once. For what it's worth, I have american racing headers and they're great!

I think they were a good choice 2 years ago, but now that you can get stainless headers for $50 more, they're a complete waste of money. They're now completely outdated and no longer the best "bang for the buck."
I had them for about a year and a half, and the car is hardly even a weekend warrior. It really doesn't get driven, just mainly sits in the garage and they still were starting to rust...
It was just surface rust but still, I decided to go a different route (Stainless) and went with QTP's. Simply amazing header. If you're tight on cash, sure, go for them, but you'll more than likely be replacing them after a few years because of rust. Especially if it's a DD or live north, which it appears you do. Keep in mind you only have to replace them twice to get the cost of a stainless header.... and you would've only had to deal with one install.

If money is a huge issue, the stainless XS/LPP headers are only about $50 more than Pacesetters and are better quality and will last a lot longer. If you have some extra cash and want to squeeze out every available pony, you can't go wrong with QTP's.
If it's a daily driver, it's even more important to go stainless. The more you drive the car, the more exposure to the elements the headers will see. Do it once, do it right. Go stainless or save your money until you can afford it IMO.
I have them and like them for the money. Mine are 1 1/2 years old and still look new [coated]. But I don't drive it much. I think they will last as long as I need them too. I want to go turbo soon so they will have too go along with the 4:30 gears.
I bought mine 2 years ago. One of them came warped, I had to send it to the machine shop to be milled flat to get rid of the exhaust leak. Other than that they have been great and still look good too.
Being ugly is the only concern with the non coated headers? We are talking about an LS1 and the headers are not the most visible piece of metal on the motor. I will be doing LT's and Y soon and will go with Pacesetters because they are such cheaper than everything else!
