Stay with the stock one.
Spend your money on something else.

I would definitely keep the stock one or if you have to get a *new* one just get the zo6 delphi maf.

That what I was told...Im doing a H/C swap soon and asked my tuner his opinion on MAFs. I lke asking a tuner because they see goods and bads every day. He told me not to waste my money until the H/C swap is in and ready to tune. Then buy a Z06 MAF and he will tune it with the other parts. A friend of mine bought the grannatelli and installed it and the cars exhaust started to smell really weird and two weeks later his cats blew. Not sure if this is related but a strange coincidence

Probably not related but it may have been leaned out completely. cars run hotter on the lean side, the "extra heat" maaaaay have had a lending hand in the destruction of the cats?

Anyway. The Delphi MAF is:
1. Bigger
2. A GM part
3. Great stock replacement

Unless tuning has changed when you go WOT, the MAF ceases to be a factor. The car doesnt care about driveability or gas milage. Now a larger diameter meter may help if the stock is considered a restriction.

What people run into with some aftermarket MAF's is the part throttle driveability and that based on the PCM tune, that if it wasnt tuned with that different part and is assuming a stock peice is in place, you will have crappy driveabilty.

As for modding, as you can see by the sig, I start with the rear tires and work forward. MAF's is one of those mods that I will do when my stock one dies. Just like an Electric waterpump.

very interesting comments but i got my gmafs some years back and when i got the car tuned the tuner took that into consideration and leaned the car out a bit less to compensate. The car with a lid, pulley and gmafs runs 12.02 @112 with a 1.57 60'. Granted I have a 3,600 and 3.73s but even so... just my 2 cents

you should be with the mods you have. unless that centerforce clutch is just a stock replacement that slips like a bitch.
