Default Will these dents affect performance?

I am thinking about getting these used Stainless Steel Kooks 1 3/4 long tube race headers. I don't care about scrapes or the color because that will happen anyway, but one side has some sizeable dents going on.

I am wondering how badly this would affect performance or if it will at all.

(I only posted the pictures showing the dents, the rest of the pictures show no other dents, etc.)

So basically if you could get used Kooks stainless for a discount with this kind of damage, would you?

Thanks,
Ryan

those are some pretty damn big dents...... I personally would not purchase them at any price...... unless you believe you can fix them.

I suppose fixing them would be a good amount of money/time as well huh.

btw, is this just because you would want nicer looking headers or do you believe they will really change performance?

If it was the only choice I had guess I'd try to fix them, you would need a torch and somthing to stick inside to try to bend it back it could be done but then that will be a week point and could blow out later because using a torch causes Oxidation which mean rusting or braking down of materal.

How much you saving?

Those are some pretty big dents. While I'm certain they will effect performance, but it would be minimal. I wouldn't pay more than $150 for them......

I wouldn't pay more than $125 for them. They will flow better than stock manifolds, but they will fall well short of the performance of a set of properly functioning LTs.

Well no I think for the price your getting the same product in the end. Stainless is the main issue for me QTP fit nice and right now their one of the best headers you can get and their less than other brands.
IF you go QTP no one can say they have better headers than you.
But Kooks are sweet too just more $$$

All I want to do is laugh at you for what you just said!!!!

Sell them to some undeserving soul . Actually don't, because they will post on here bitching abut it! They would work fine, who cares what the look like. Those primaries could stand to have a tad more room though. I would get them and have them repaired...who knows what a repair on that would cost and how much it would compromise the integrity of the material though.

Actually the more I think about it I would jsut run them as they are. Heck! They are already "pre-clearanced". But definitely run the price down on that guy.

If you get them cheap you can repair them. Drill a small hole in them. Use a dent jerker (slide hammer) to pull out the dents, then have a fab shop tig up the holes. They will not be perfect but they will work.

I allready went over what could happen if you repair them, the whole idea when you get a expensive set of headers is to have the most flow as possible those dents are going to cause a restriction in flow for 650 thats just bad advice to tell someone to buy them I dont care who is selling them if they belong to the sight or whatever. Thats just an out right rip off as far as I'm concerned.
I mean Why is he selling them??? its because he is going to buy another set of headers thats why because those ones are junk now, thats my guess.

and I dont know what you mean buy laugh at me all I'm trying to point out is that QTP is top of the line that the point I was trying to make with him.
