I had 2 of these on my vette with straight pipes and took them off to put on Z06 Ti exhaust and I actually thought it would feel slower with the ti exhaust, WRONG, night a day difference (I have more low end torque now), I am done with the spiral flows. There were some before and after dyno graphs with and without them and they were about a 5 rwhp difference.

uhh.. you could of thrown stock muffler back on there and likely lost significantly less power.. interesting. no experience with the spiral flows.. intuitively they set off a light bulb in my head that say "stay away" but i've heard good things. the turbulence one might expect to go on in those things just doesnt seem right.. but neither does what dr. gas is known for, and (a lot of) their stuff kicks ***. for some reason im obsessed with experimenting with exhaust systems, ive had quite a few, on numerous vehicles or on friends cars.. im with the guy who recommended the dynatech, or even a borla xr1 if you wanna dump the cash.
one of the exhausts (that truck is currently on its 5th exhaust configuration, my notchback stang had 3 exhausts, and my cobra had 4.. like i said i just love to break out the mig and make stuff.. and throw money away apparently..) i had on my 416 cube FE ford consisted of (used off a friends blown stang) mac flowpath 3 inch mufflers.. one day goin down the highway sounded like i developed a vacuum leak AND dropped a cylinder all at the same time.. interesting.. (my vac gauge even indicated a leak) turns out one of the mufflers collapsed internally.. but they sounded so good i just ordered another one. problem solved. you'll love my redneck diagnosis.. i stuck a shop vac in the end of the mufflers to see which one made the vacuum strain the hardest to pull air, it was obvious which one bit the dust. in my defense i was 18 at the time lol.
i have a friend that runs a dynomax bullet in his y pipe to quiet things down.. and his car does work.. as in it spins the tires on the rim ON THE STREET.. and thats like a $40 muffler with a good rep. im in the process of collecting my exhaust atm, and im goin with the dynatech to tame the rasp, a cutout to **** off the neighbors and scare old people walking their dogs.. and retaining the random technology axle back that was on the car when i bought it since it at least looks halfway decent, is currently quiet, and free.99

I went to get my cra dynoed and I have 2 spiral flows welded in a row with a dump. I dynoed almost 30hp less than with the cutout open. It robbed a crapload of hp from me. Now it is time for sweet thunders with a H pipe

Yep I went from 119 mph traps to being neck and neck with my friends auto 05 GTO. He has a tune and a k&n intake, granted his car is a freak since it cracks off 12.99 @ 109 all night long, I still lost 10 mph. So I propmtly cut that pile of **** muffler out, ran up to Summit and got a dynomax bullet. Should be on the car tomorrow morning.

guys this is wild, i had the lm1 on my setup, with the 224 cam and dynoed 383 horse and 373 torque on a mustang dyno, after installing my stage 2.5 5.3 heads and true duals with spiral flows i only dynoed 398 horse and 389 torque on a dynojet....i tink these spiral flows maybe causing me some issues aswell?

I wish this post woulda came up before I got mine. I love the sound but it doesnt seem like they could actually rob 30hp because with my whole exhaust setup I doubt I even gained 30hp. I will have to leave them on for a while either way o well.

Well I put the Dynomax in place of the junk sprial flow, and WOW my car is fast again. It was pathetic, I ran a Trailblazer SS and a GTO, both stockish and I could NOT pull away from either of the 2 from 10-130 mph when the Sprial Flow was on. Now I'm back to putting immeadiate buslengths on them.

it more then likely was the location having both exhaust banks merging into just one... it was to much flow for it to handle since you can really see the power drop off after 4500 which is right when my cam starts to wake up...
