Default Spark plug wires bad?

This morning I was going to the gym and my 3.8 camaro wouldnt start. It was around 5 so I popped the hood and eventually it started. However I noticed that on one of the coil packs there were sparks grounding on the outside of it. Does that make sense? What I mean is inhsted of traveling through the spark plug wire it would instead ground right outside the coil pack itself. I am going to buy some wires and see if it fixes the problem. Any other Ideas? BTW its a 2001. original wires and coild packs. Thanks

You might make sure that the wire is pushed all the way on the coil. I'm not sure on the 3.8 but on the LS1 you can hear it click when you push the wire on all the way. If that doesn't help it, then I would change the wires out.
