People buy SLP Lt's? I'd rather buy ebay LT's. Better fitment 
SLP Headers
SLP Headers ok i just put some slp long tubes on my car it was pretty easy compared to what i was hearing took about nine hours to do it but yea....so is there anything i need to worry about with the slp's...
OK the next thing is a lot of my friends have these cars also and they all have ebay headers or the melt away pacesetters....they keep saying that headers are headers and all this and that slp are a waste of money ....so can some one be on my side and maybe prove me wrong or prove me right

From what I understand....SLP FINALLY updated the design of their longtubes to assist with the clearance issue.
The price = WAY too high.
The quality = poor for the price.
The performance = on par with other longtubes.
Now...this is going with SLP's older design.
Not 100% sure they changed. Just saw some pictures that appeared to be a different design.
Kooks/QTP > SLP (old OR new design)
The price = WAY too high.

quality is good for the new ones, they come with y and high flow cats theys why they are so expensive, just like qtp and american racing headers, the new style is pimpin

You think the price is way too high? They're about the same price as ARH's and with the SLP, you get stainless steel AND a coating. Plus, the headers come with everything. It's a full install kit from what I've read.
The quality is poor? Again, it's stainless AND coated. The quality is just fine. How can you hate on the SLP's for being expensive when ARH's are about the same price and you don't even get the coating?
They are NOT a "redesigned" longtube. They are a completely different design altogether designed to optimize performance in the high rpm's. Everything you've said in your post has been misinformation. Sorry, I just hate to see people bash a product like this. You're just hating on SLP.

You can't get SLP headers without the emission provisions. According to their site only the old version has the free cats for this month while the new version doesn't come with cats.

SLP sucks, i dont know about their new ones, i hope they are better than the old design i just canned my old headers for some pacesetters. took me about 9 hours to install my slp's too, that is terribe my pacesetters took a good half hour probably.
I love mine, they were fun to install, i think my LS6 intake took longer than my Header install did,,,,
Yeah, they have low clearance, but im stock height, and have no intentions of lowering,,,,,
I love um, they sound great, it was a mod i could ACTUALLY feel, and they scare the **** out of my wife when i fire her up.....good times.
I say, if you have a chance to get em at a great price used, and they are not all torn up, then they are for you. If your the timid, scared to install stuff type,,they might not be for you,,,,,although,,i found it very easy compared to the horror stories i read on here....makes you think twice about what folks on here are saying.......

Clearance is the biggest complaint I've seen from people with the SLP (not sure if that was fixed with the new design or not?). For the price, I would go with QTP or Kooks though. And as far as your question about whether or not they will net you more HP, the majority of LT's will net you very similar gains on a stock cube motor.
I have the old SLP design long tubes. The only issue is ground clearence. Just don't charge speed bumps and your are o.k. I think too many people just hop on the band wagon on this site and repeat verbatem what they read. They make good power and look crazy! If you can find them used for $275 or less they are great.
I've had SLP LT's on my car for three years now. No problems what so ever. I make good horsepower and great torque numbers. They still look great with the ceramic coated stainless. I got all the power, fit and finish is good, no problems so far.
They do hang low, but I knew that going in so its not a big deal. I have never scrapped them on anything so they don't hang that low. If they are on sale, buy them.

I have em and like em. Clearance issue is there but only effects you if you don't pay attention to super high speed bumps and wacky inclines and declines on ramps. Honestly,... the collectors never hit. The y-pipe or Cats are what scrape on those,... NOT the headers!
