Default o2 extension melted, running problem

my drivers side o2 extentions was snugged between the oil filter and the block at install. well last sunday i believe my car started idling really funny, but only on start up, every start up, no matter if the engine is hot or cold and does this for about 5-7 minutes of driving time and stops. anyway when i went to put my new tires on i saw this o2 extension just hanging, plastic melted and 1 wire looked like ****, i'm wondering if this could be the cause of the problem. the wire is still plugged into the o2. btw my exhaust is pacesetter LT, !cats, H true duals, 2.5" piping into 2 LM1's dumped so i'm also thinkin the lack of back pressure might be a problem but i really don't think it should be doin that if it's the back pressure

why would you place the 02 extension between the oil filter and the block? if you have access to a multimeter disconnect the extension at both ends and test the resistance of each of the 4 wires.

if i was there at install i wouldn't have done that myself. i'm ordering 2 18" extensions from ws6store this week regardless cause thess 24" extensions are just way too long

wrap the wires with heat tape stuff so they will not melt. You can find rolls of it at jegs or summit or most places actually. My first one melted, wrapped the second really good before I put it on and no problems since.

yeah mines snugged there too so it wont hang down and i havent had any problems, been 2 summers with them on....my extensions did come apart and caused my car to run like **** at all times and missfire when in closed loop.....i then put on corvette rear 02 sensors and it fixed my problems. cars been perfect. Only thing i heard is that they dont switch very fast, dont know if that matters, to some it may when tuning

well i haven't got the parts in yet stupid fedex!!!! but i did fix the idle problem! it was actually the pcv elbow that plugs into the passenger side of the manifold that had a small hole in it . . . by the time i saw it the hole was almost the size of a dime hahahaha needless to say my car runs ALOT better
