Oh...eh. Do you think it would be possible to offer an H-merge as an option? Will the system be offered in stainless?

Sorry for all the questions, I'd just love to get a mandrel bent true dual system that comes with single chamber Flowmasters. I'd get a shop to run them out the back if necessary, but I just don't want an X-merge, which is what all the systems on the market now offer. I think you could make a killing with an H-merge as the H-pipe is becoming much more popular recently. A year or two ago, nearly ALL the TD's you saw getting made custom had X-merges. Now, I see more H-merges than X-merges. I guess people are starting to take note that the H-merge sounds so much better.

I just think if you offered it as an option, even if it was a small additional cost, it would be a great idea. You'd be the ONLY guy with TD's with an H-pipe for the F-body.

ok thats a good deal then...... i did only pay 400 for my headers and y through ebay so 250 bucks is what i meant......

$650 for these headers is a damn good deal though...... sorry guys just trying to make myself feel better that i missed out on them

i have the older style xs-headers and to be honest after installing them i would pay 650 for the old style as well

The headers should be out in 30 to 60 days. The tru duals are still in the R&D so it may be a few months on them.

I've never heard anyone before wanting an H in stead of the X on the true duals. I agree it does sound better but the X gives much better exhaust savaging than the H. It's still in R&D so it could go either way. I guess I'll have to do a little investigating to see which would be better to produce. We probably wouldn't make both because one of the ways we keep our prices low is to only make products that we can sell a lot of. If we start producing products that we only sell a few of and have a lot of them sitting around it drives cost up.

If you end up making an H-pipe system for a good price (I know thats how you do things ) you would probably have my business again .

Like I said, there has been a huge push in the past year to custom TD's with an H-pipe. At first, everyone went X-pipe because of the TSP kit that everyone kinda copied off of when they went custom. However, after H-pipe soundclips starting turning up, they got really popular. Also, it's a lot easier to fit an H-merge in there, so ground clearance should be better. Yea, X-pipe's perform a little better, but H-pipes give you better sound and low end. For daily drivers, which most of our cars are, it's better to have the great sound and the power down low. After all, we're spending 99% of our time under 3,000 rpm's.

People want true duals for that old school muscle car sound. You just can't get that sound out of an LS1 with an X-pipe. However, you can get a lot closer with an H-pipe. I think, IMO, there are a lot of people on this site that don't bother going TD's because they can't get that sound. It's not worth the hassle, so they just stay with a y-pipe. I think if they could finally get that sound from a shelf system, they may convert over.

Just my opinion. Please, don't base your decisions on my useless opinion

Will the y pipe work with other Long tubes (QTP) on an LS1 to the stock cat back?

Well I started a poll here:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-external-engine/903925-true-dual-poll-x-h.html
to see what everyone thinks.
But I do agree at one time I had a true dual setup I made for my car with an H pipe and I loved the sound but it seam like everyone whats performance over sound Me I prefer the sound myself.
