Default TB Teardown

Just wondering what's involved in tearing apart a stock throttle body for powder coating. Any input would be great.

Its not too complicated. Remove the sensors. Then remove the spring. Then unscrew the blade and remove. Finally tap out the shaft. Be sure not to loose the small round clip that holds the shaft in place when you tap it out. Good Luck!

Will the bearings withstand 400 deg for 20 min or do they have to come out?

Common sense tells me to get them out, but how?

what i would say is this: buy some replacement bearings and gaskets then slice the originals out with a hobby knife and install the replacements once it's powdercoated.

Why? well first, you'll probably damaged them trying to take them out and have to do the above process anyway. second, if you leave them in and they melt you'll have REALLY fun time trying to get them out afterwards. thirdly, its lazy, its easy, and they probably don't cost that much
