i've heard of some ppl wedging rubber or something like that inbetween the pipe and the floorbored and wrapping it with heat wrap so it stays. unless your trying to not spend any money, theres a y-pipe bumpstop that you can buy also.
go to the parts store, get some 4 inch hose clamps, and a chunk of heater hose. Put the hose on the top of the y pipe between the y and the floor, and use the hose clamps to hold it in place.
I know it isnt what you asked.............but do the motormounts and do it right. Sure you can wedge a bunch of rubber between the y-pipe and floor board and cushion the banging......but why do something ghetto on your car? Thats just as bad as ricers using duct tape to hold on body kits that dont fit.
I had the same problem with mine. I put in polyurethane motor mounts and the banging went away. You will be glad you did.

dude........ i have found the ultimate fix...... i have the xs-headers ORY and it was smacking at all rpms against my floorboard post-install.
get a rubber exhaust hanger(it can take these temperatures)... and a 3-1/2'' hose clamp(like the ones that hold your lid to the MAF, MAF to bellow etc...... and cut a slice through the rubber hanger..... slide the clamp through and clamp it down in between the floorboard and pipe....... wish i could take a picture for you
i also use a friend to pry the collector on the header down a bit to wedge the rubber hanger in.....
