Default Question about install of gauges

I'm going to be installing an Autometer elec. water temp gauge and an oil temp gauge in my A-pillar. The question I have is about the senders. I know you put the water temp sender in the passenger side head next to #8 plug and you need a M12x1.5 to 1/8" pipe adapter. But what about the oil temp sender?? I've read that you can put it right above the oil filter. Does that just take a M12x1.5 to 1/8" pipe adapter also?? If not, where else can the oil temp sender go and what is needed to put it there?? Thanks!
Joe

This page has a great write-up on the oil temp sensor placement:
