Default Switching exhaust...

Right now I have TSP Spiral Flows dumped, no cats, QTP LTs, and a cam. It's not quiet. I don't mind it, but it gets somewhat annoying not being able to hear anything in the car, not being able to hold a conversation, and looking over my shoulder everytime I hit the gas. I am looking to add cats (yea yea I know...), and have a system that runs out the back. Dumped exhaust was fun at first, but it's become more of an annoyance. Would you...

- have y-pipe fabbed up (the self gutting QTP catted y-pipe is not an option)
- have duals run out back with cats (over or under axle? NJ roads suck *****)
- have dumps angled outward and add cats

Opinions and comments welcome. Thanks. I am going to v-band the ypipe/duals to header connection, i've had enough of these chincy band clamps.

I am liking that option the best, and I will probably do that, considering it should cost next to nothing to do, just cost of cats and v-band ends which i found for pretty cheap. I still absolutely love the thump of the car at idle and the scream at wide open...

I like this option the best. I was having the same problems as you with my dumped duals....way too loud inside and just shook the whole inside of the car. I ran mine out the back of the car and it is soooo much quieter inside the cabin, the car is alot better to drive on a daily basis.

The only thing I would do instead of adding the cats is add another set of mufflers before the tips (I've seen many pictures of this being done on here but can't find them at the moment). Then you could unbolt the rear section and have it as loud as it was before if you go to the track or anything.

Here's some pics of my new setup https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...76#post9182576

Yea I saw your setup it's awesome, I'm just real concerned about going under the axle. I figure though, that if the car ever dipped down that low, it would be damn close to banging the rear end pumpkin on the ground anyhow... I wanted to add cats simply because in NJ if you catch a cop on a bad day he'll give you complete hell for not having cats (it is after all illegal so he's just doing his job, but it's still one less thing I'd like to have them give me **** for). Just to clarify, the TSP duals are mild steel, correct? Just need to know so I get 2 mild steel v-band ends and not 4 stainless
