bump stop too low??

hey guys i was getting ready to do the bump stop mod on my 01 SS and when i measured it open it read 4.27, ive noticed everybody on here starting out at like 4.40 and the grinding till about 4.6x why is mine so low to begin with? is 4.2x normal? i read the same opening the throttlebody with my hand and pushing the pedal all the way down.

Im sure they vary some, mine was 4.32 when I checked it before i did the mod. And when I got to 4.69 I stopped. Just be careful not to go too far, it goes quick.
