Are LS1 TB and LS6 TB any different?

Are LS1 TB and LS6 TB any different?

Is there any advantage to starting with one or the other when porting the throttle body?

Well isn't the LS6 throttle body drive-by-wire? I don't think it would be compatible with an Fbody.

I do believe the LS6 TB off a Z06 Vette would be drive-by-wire, but I assume the F-body cable system can be swapped over. I could be wrong.

I think it has been stated before that the electronic tb cant be used on a fbody. Not positive but I think I had read that on here

F-Body is mechanical throttle body only. Your LS1 mechanical TB will work fine, but you may need the cable bracket depending upon which vehicle the intake manifold is from.

I've got an LS6 intake manifold to install from an 01 F-body and it already has the cable bracket.

I'm talking about differences between the LS1 and the LS6 throttle bodies, not the intake manifolds.

From the pics of the LS6 TBs I've seen around, it looks like the drive-by-wire solenoid is removable and on the same side as the F-body cable system... I'm wondering if it allows any additional porting volume over the LS1 unit...

There are no provisions for the throttle position sensor or idle air control on the drive by wire unit. It is not compatible nor feasible to use for cable actuation.
