Default removing cats

I'm looking to remove my cats and replace with straight pipes for a year until I have to get inspected again. Does anyone sell pieces of pipe to fit right in? Also, the car has stock manifolds and a magnaflow catback. Anyone have any idea how this will sound with the cats removed? Is there any other function to o2 sims other than preventing the SES light?

bassani makes a pipe you can just bolt in, unbolt your stock pipes from the manifolds to the i-pipe, the bassani is a new piece, its a new y-pipe and all, then when emissions come around you can just unbolt and bolt your cats and stock y back in

awesome that would be perfect. Any recommended place to pick one up? Does it include o2 sims? or do I even need o2 sims if its just for inbetween inspections?

I wouldn't unbolt the cats from the stock exhaust manifolds unless you are ready to replace everything with headers. Especially in the northeast the bolts and studs on the exhaust rust to hell and some just break when you take them apart. And if you do get headers get stainless or that will rust too. Just my 2 cents.

you are going to have a hell of a time with getting those cats off 1 is the rest n the bolts 2 is the placement of bolts, you might have hard time getting to one or two of them. I think summitracing.com had those o2 sims you wanted if not look at jegs.com or slponline.com. I not sure what it would sound like you ever thought about just going with a high flow cat?

I'm a college student looking for a cheap/fast fix for this summer, in a state that absolutely blows as far as car inspections go. First summer paycheck is going towards the car, and I was hoping that removing the cats would provide a big increase in how loud the car was, as I am very unimpressed with the magnaflow catback.

I'm not too worried about getting the cats off, I'm pretty pacient. I am just interested to know how it will sound after they are off and the stock manifolds are hooked up to the magniflow catback.

I'm considering saving up for long tubes, but that becomes even more of a hassle for inspection in massachusetts every year.

Thanks.

Why do the inspections blow in this state? With my tune I could take my cats off and still pass OBDII inspection. I have LT's, cat'd Y & magnaflow. If you do go with LTs the high flow cats will reduce rasp and sound better than an ORY IMHO.

If you just want to take the cats off for the fun of it go ahead. I think the stock exhaust manifolds are holding you back on power and sound more than the cats.

What school you go to? I went to WPI.

I saw the info about the show but didn't make it down there. Looked like a good turnout.
