loud intake whistling problem

Good news, I fixed the problem! I think what I did is ok, let me know if it isn't.
I disconnected the hose from the intake and plugged that hole (on the passenger side), and I put a breather/catch can on the valve cover side of the hose, runs the same and no whistle!

Thanks for the help guys, and if there is a problem with what I did, please let me know because I really don't want to harm the engine.

Mine did that exact same thing, I replaced the PCV valve and it stopped. Been driving it for about 10k since and it hasnt returned. Give it a shot.
My guess is that it was clogged causing the whistle.
