i see... good info

when you say pressurize/sealing it... I've looked at the picture of the kit... i'm a little confused on what the "sealing" part is...?

The FTRA comes with rubber and foam seals that serve to seal off your air so that the only air that enters comes in through the FTRA. It also allows the kit to build pressure as your speed increases.

It will pull water up from there also. If for some reason you have to drive through standing water, be very, very careful...

It's a remote possibility but we do include a block off plate in our kit to disable it if you need to drive in really bad weather. With the block off plate installed, water cannot come up through the kit and it breathes in exactly the stock fashion.

It would have to be quite a deep puddle and you would need to hit it at speed to allow the water to rise that high.

I didn't use any of the foam when I installed mine. I just went crazy with a roll of duct tape.

Or you could be sitting still in it and a truck going the opposite direction push a wave into you and it suck the water up that way. Paper filter was wet and it pulled a gap in the filter and sucked water into the intake.

I have 147,000+ miles on my FTRA and have driven it in some serious rain storms and it has preformed flawlessly...I average around 30,000 miles a year in the car.. you would have to get into some deep water and do something real stupid to suck water up into your engine...

Or be caught in bumper to bumper traffic and be able to watch the water rise around you.

You can always get out of the car open the hood and take off the lid and then slowly drive out of the water....you always have an option if you don't panic
