and yea they def were coated... so can somebody tell me how they got THAT bad??
and lately i've had an SES light on and off... forgot exactly what code it was but it was the passenger front O2 so i'm assuming that's prob the reason for the code... hopefully the actual O2 sensor is fine...
If you don't have a welder just swing by a local exhaust shop. If they have a heart I don't even think they would charge you to throw a bead on there. Specially if they can get it with out putting the car on the lift.
i suggest leaving them on until you want to upgrade. performancewise there is no compromise with having a "rusty" header vs a new one. also, when is the last time you entered a car show and parked on the mirror? the car will run fine with them and honestly i'd guess that header to outlive every other part bolted to the engine, including the engine itself.
If you don't plan on replacing them, I would leave them in until they fell off.
