LS6 Crossover kit
Is it worth it to spend the $45 bucks to get the coolant line kit, or is it just as easy to shave the ribs and slightly flatten out the stock lines?
What are your guys experiences with this?
Any problems with not installing it?

I noticed that my car used to stay cooler before I swapped out to the ls6 intake years ago.so thats why my car runs hotter than it used to anyone else have the same thing happen to them after the ls6 coolant lines installed.I have the same question will the ls1 lines work with the fast 90 intake.

thanks guys. I hope more answers from guys with experience will help others too. It seemed like spending 45 bucks, and also losing the direct coolant flow to the rear of the block just didn't make sense to me.

Quoted word for word,
from the book "How To Build High-Performance Chevy LS1/LS6 V8's"
by Will Handzell (GMPP) Cartech Books.
Page 49.
"Some road racers have been using the pre-LS6 steam tubes underneath the LS6 intake to improve cooling in cylinder number 7 (they previously had detonation problems in that hole). While the steam tubes weren't used on factory LS6s, they will fit under the intake by slightly grinding down some of the stiffening ribs on the bottom side."
If there's any doubt, there's no doubt.

shave the ribs, you dont even have to shave them all, just the parts that interfere. i used a set of pliers and snappped them all off in about 5 mins. the intake dropped right in after that.i used the 45 bucks to buy new intake gaskets. the best part is, no coolant splashing onto the driveway.
