Default Ok to remove heat sheilds after installing LTs

Is it ok to remove the heat shields after installing my headers they are rattling like there is no tomorrow? or is there anything i can do to them to make them stop?

I dont have them the only reason i would have them on is if you have cats just incase the get clogged, because they can get really hot if they are clogged up just my 2 cents

I took all of mine off but left the one for the fuel lines

You can take them off.. but if you drive a lot with the engine/exhaust producting a lot of heat under the car, having them might be a good Idea. That is if you can stop the rattling and don't mine a little extra weight.

I left all of mine, notched and bent one just to hold the wires for my O2 sensor though, seemed like a good idea

As the other guys said, it isn't really an issue. Due to clearance issues with the headers most people do have to leave them off, but they cleared just barely on my current vehicle so I left them on just for kicks. But again, shouldn't ever be an issue with leaving them off.

I may try to "reshape" them to just leave them on but I will see. Any Ideas why my car starts right up sometimes then just some times it wants to just crank and not start?

I took them off of both my Formula and my 93. The ones off of my 93 weighed 2.1875 lbs.
