smooth bellows
just wondering, couldnt you make your own smooth bellow from a piece of truck radiator hose or something (instead of paying $50 for the SLP one)? i was looking around in ebay and found these for sale
it looks like the guy just used a piece of hose in the right diameter, and he seems to be selling a lot fo these on ebay! what do you guys think, is the SLP one worth the $50, or have people had success making their own?

Re: smooth bellows
Isn't there a FERNCO hose from Home Depot that works? People have been doing this since the LS1 came out I believe . . .

Re: smooth bellows
I used the 3" to 3" Fernco hose from home depot. Trimmed the top of the TB end to match the angle of the stock bellows, and hollowed out the TB end just a bit. Slid right on with a little finnesse and fit perfectly.

I trimmed the end of the fernco that goes onto the TB from about the middle to the top, so it makes about a 20-25 degree angle. Just set it down next to your stock bellows and trim it so that the angles are the same. I also trimmed the inside of the fernco just a little, where it slides onto the TB. I think that helped a lot.
To install it, I pushed it on the TB, then from the inside of the fernco I pushed outward so that it stretched a little and slipped right over the TB (the fact that it was almost 100 degrees outside may have helped make it more pliable ). After the fernco was secured on the TB, I pushed the rest of the intake assembly (already put together) onto the fernco. It slid right on the MAF and everything pushed right into place.
I think I have a pic of the trimmed Fernco before I installed it, if that would help.
