Question Trying to Finish up intake track, need input.

Recently I've installed a Cam, Ported 90/90 on stock heads, w/ UD pulley.

I made 394 rwhp through a heavy DS and 12 bolt. Mods in sig. Seems like a few people feel I am leaving roughly 20 hp on the table due to a few things...

Lid (have a SLP)
MAF (Stock, descreened)
Injectors (Stock)
Fuel Pump (Stock)

I do not know my duty cycles on the injectors, I will have to try to contact my tuner and see if it got logged.

Basically I wanted to know peoples opinion, if not proof of showing a upgraded set up, lets say a Fast Toys 85mm Lid/MAF combo w/ green top injectors and fuel pump showed an improvement.

Now mind you this cam only w/ bolt ons, had it been a stock m6/10 bolt drive line can or should have done 410-412 rwhp. Which I dont think is too bad but I guess with the ported 90, its now choked off.

I have done a search, but nothing really matching my question exactly.

-Thanks

Aaron

ugh...sometimes i hate having to search for the specs on a cam when someone asks for help and just lists the "name"

not everyone memorizes the specs on all the cams on the market.

any way...for those wondering he's running a 228/230 .588/.592 112 LSA cam.

i would say you're right where you should be with that setup, particularly with the heavy driveline.

i'm a big believer in people getting dissapointed in dyno results because we so so many "freak" results.

we've all seen the cam only 224 guy make 405rwhp...blah blah blah...

then we get pissed that our 23x only makes 400rwhp.

i know it happened to me 4 yrs ago with my cam. i was pissed at making 382rwhp...then again there were issues with the car...and i've fixed them and have not re-dynoed the car since.

Yes, its a mild cam w/ good lobes.

I've always beleived its the over all combo vs individual part gains.

When I did LTX stuff, MAF's were a big pain, never see a real gain and driveability would suffer due to the tune not compensating for the MAF calbration.

With LSX stuff, now it seems like it wants more air.

Also I am going to look into some datalogging software.

i can't imagine you're maxing out your injectors just yet. everyone seems to say they are good for 425+ at the wheels.

but its worth looking into

i would think the maf and lid could benefit the setup, but i'm still not convinced the bigger maf is tunable as much as the stock.

some more advise from a tuner would help

Yea, I would think the same BUT no one has mention duty cycle % in regard, like the injector can still run @ 90 but most tuners want them to be in the %70 range, also more fuel pump to supply and either a FP regulator or a tuned high cap. injector.

With the MAF, often the tune had to be compensated for driveabilty, unless things change the MAF doesnt matter @ WOT BUT as far as CFM is concerned its now choking off the volume of air in the intake.
