Default Vids of Cutouts Right off Headers

I did a little searching and didnt really find what i am looking for. I have duals with cats and slp resonators and while its loud, i want alot louder. I want to move the cats back and put two e-cutouts on the headers and then put some quieter mufflers in place of the resonators so i can go pretty quiet around cops and the deal.

I am wondering if anyone has a video of cutouts off off longtubes and would be amazing if they have a cam. I have heard open headers but not through a cam and not driving by where you can actaully tell the sound.

Thanks

you do NOT want open headers with a cam.... i like loud, i like it a lot.. i had to run open headers for a weekend before i got my setup... it was AWFUL.. if you got in my car and drove about a mile down the road you could get out and your ears would be ringing, this is taking easy not getting on it.. not to count the fact that it sounded like ***!

i would find some loud exhaust and put it on there.. one of my friends has a camaro with mids into a y-pipe and i have what is in my sig.. my car idling and driving around is just as loud as his.. when we are WOT his might be a little louder.. but nothing noticeable to anyone else.. the ONLY*** difference is mine is dead silence on the inside compared to his.. which is nice... people on the outside hear two cars that are just as loud as each other but on the inside his is annoying loud and mine is probably a little bit louder that an slp lm.. (when you get on it.. its loud on the inside.. very loud..)

The only problem is my cats though, i would like it fine with no cats... i guess i just need a way to be able to bypass them. I have inspection in like a year so i dont want to blow money on changing out test pipes and **** and no local exhaust shops will touch it

Sounds good I think. Probably a little much for a DD with the two behind the headers opened, but hey I run LT's and ORY with 1 cutout open everyday.

Is that first video open headers because it sounds badass but not as loud as i thought.

I know it would be insanely loud, thats why they would be e-cutouts and would be used for racing and messing with people.

First two vids I posted were open.

And the camera microphone doesn't pick it up very well.
The link you quoted is capped through the duals.

if your just using it for messing with people thats fine... for racing though you dont want open headers... i had a friend that was running open headers and then went full exhaust.... that was the only thing he changed and picked up 14 hp..

if you going over 5-6 miles on a drive i would not suggest doing this... but just for 30-45 seconds at a time... not too bad i dont guess.. but it does sound like poopoo

I picked up over 10RWHP with the dumps open. Granted, a little different build.

Also, to each their own on the sound. While mine is VERY LOUD, it does sound very mean open. I personally can't stand how loud it is though.

Here are the dyno sheets.

Again though, I wouldn't run the dual cutouts on a mostly stock (over even mild cammed) LS1. My car has a good sized cam, heads, 402 cubes, etc...

Red graphs are open, blue is capped.
Exhaust is custom non-mandrel bent over the axle 3" duals, no cats, Magnaflow mufflers. Kooks 1 7/8" longtubes.
Uncorrected at 5400 feet...

Corrected...

i dont know exactly what his setup is.. i did, but cants remember... its an ls3 with an ls6? cam, cants remember heads.. stall. and supporting mods.. he was at about 550 hp..

the sound i dont know about the cutouts and stuff i just know when i had LT headers without ANYTHING hooked up to them it was (i dont have a word for how loud it was)... it hurt your ears, and sounded like poo... if it were just cutouts it may be different?

ahhh, i take that back before it wasnt cutouts, or dumped on his exhaust.. he was running an h-pipe... and then went to an x-pipe.. my bad.... got someone elses setup confused... he picked up 10 hp through and x over h... but i still here it is better to run through exhaust?

For the most part, I agree.
Dyno showed power for me, so I run open cutouts for the track. Takes until 4200 to show gains, but I am over that the entire 1/4 mile, so....

I am sure the cutouts are different than open headers though.
