Egr Delete Problems
Egr Delete Problems I just deleted my EGR system on my 98 z and it seems to not get up and go when i punch it like i used to. It seems to run just fine except for idling just a hair higher than it used to but drives fine I put the block off plate going to the headers and on the head and also the plate I put on top of the intake to block that hole so do I need to have the car tuned and have the codes removed or what could be wrong. Where possibly though? I didnt put an expansion plug in the hole on the intake. Could that be it? I thought that was what the plate was for but I could be wrong so someone help me because their was no leaks until I took the egr off so I am guessing I need the Expansion plug after all for the intake.someone tell me whats wrong 
oh and I drove it a minute ago and let it set and idle and now it was idling up and back down every 5 seconds or so

Definitely...there is only one bolt to hold it down..so I don't think it would have enough pressure to keep the plate down on all sides?

Just go to AutoZone or other local parts store and find a rubber expansion plug...I can't remember what size it is though...use a ruler or something to measure the whole..then get a plug that expands to bigger. If you get the wrong one, just take it back and exchange for a different size?

You don't need a plate or whatever he is using.
